چکیده

The precipitation behavior and mechanical properties for conventionally solidified Al-2.0wt.%Cu-2.0wt.%Mn alloy were studied. supersaturated aluminum-based solid solution, CuAl2, Al6Mn Al20Cu2Mn3 phases of solidification origin identified after casting. high temperature ageing as-cast samples (T5 treatment) in a range 300–350 °C led to the formation metastable θ′ phase equiaxed precipitates quasicrystalline-structured I-phase. demonstrated size stability studied with mean length ~300 nm thickness ~24 nm. A I-phase varied ~30–50 depending on treatment regimes. rod-shaped T-phase formed an increase 400 °C. Mechanical analyzed at room solution-treated state. increased yield strength 200–300 observed 300 148 h.

Stable Quasicrystalline Phase in Al-Cu-Fe-Cr Coating Materials

Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) studies have been carried out on magnetron-sputtered coatings in the Al-rich region of the Al-Cu-Fe-Cr quasicrystalline phase field, focusing on the composition that exhibited the best tribological performance among a group of sputtered coatings. The size of the particles in the as-deposited coating is around 10 nm. The TEM experiments on annealed coatings...

Microstructures and thermal stability of metastable - phase precipitates formed in an Al – Cu alloy at 463

The precipitation behavior in an Al– Cu alloy isothermally annealed at 463 K was studied using Vickers microhardness tests, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). An additional endothermic peak found in the DSC measurements may be attributed to the h00-phase, independent of the dissolution of the G. P. (II) and the h00-phase at the aging temperatures...

Precipitation of a new platelet phase during the quenching of an Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloy.

A previously undescribed high aspect ratio strengthening platelet phase, herein named the Y-phase, has been identified in a commercial Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloy. Differential scanning calorimetry indicates that this phase only precipitates at temperature and cooling rate of about 150-250 °C and 0.05-300 K/s, respectively. This precipitate is shown to be responsible for a noticeable improvement in mecha...

Dsc Study of Precipitation in an Al-mg-mn Alloy Microalloyed with Cu

Power compensation DSC has been employed to detect and analyse precipitation reactions in an Al1.3Mg-0.4Mn and an Al-1.3Mg-0.4Mn-0.07Cu alloy in which very small amounts of precipitate, less than 0.3 at%, are expected to form. Due to the very small heat effects, baseline instability and drift significantly interfere with the measurements. After repeated experiments and careful baseline correcti...
